Hi.
How you doing?
You good?
Yes?
That's nice.
He's pretty.
Pretty, like in an incredibly unfair and scary way.
It almost hurts.
Sorry, I got distracted.
You too?
This week in fan fiction
I recommend the following
"To know the ending, you must start at the beginning. I'm Isabella Marie Swan. Eighteen years old. Senior. Short in stature. Skinny fat. Brown hair and eyes. And this is my story. It's not your run of the mill fairy tale."
107yearoldvirgin is one of my go-to authors. I would read anything she writes and I do...
Her newest story, Puddle Jumping, may be my favorite one she has written so far.
Bella and Edward's story starts off in an unconventional way but leads to the blossoming of an even more unconventional yet sweet love.
"I'm Isabella Marie Swan. Eighteen years old. Senior.Short in stature. Skinny fat. Brown hair and eyes. And this is my story. If you haven't figured it out already, this isn't your run-of-the-mill fairy tale love story. It's not even a paranormal romance.I wouldn't even categorize this much of a romance at all.Because I'm not the kind of person to fall in love. And neither is the guy I'm head over heels for."- chapter 1
Edward is a high functioning person with Asperger's Syndrome, which is on the Autism spectrum.
He is a brilliant artist. He is a teenager. He is special. He wants to be normal.
At least what is considered "normal" under normal teenage conventions.
"Ready to go?" I'd asked, wondering if I should take him straight home or offer to get him some dinner. But his response made my mouth hang open in shock."Whatever."I blinked and pressed my lips together, trying to form a response. "Whatever?'"Yeah," he rolled his eyes. "Whatever."And then he kind of looked at me and the corner of his mouth pulled up into a sly smile. "They taught us teenage slang tonight to help us blend in with our peers."It made my heart leap out of my chest and I had to resist the urge to hug him and laugh all at once because he looked so damn cute and a little proud of himself as he said it. Instead, I stood up and gave him an awkward double thumbs' up of approval."You totally nailed it," I told him, my own smile creeping up on me until I couldn't hide it anymore. We were both...smiling. Such was the new beginning for us."-chapter 11
Puddle Jumping is currently updating on a very regularly schedule, I think we got 2 updates yesterday, and has 14 chapters posted.
*~*~*~*~*
"Bella and Edward, a friendly conumdrum... Two weeks to figure it out.
Two weeks to talk and kiss and touch. Two weeks to fall in love."
The first chapter of Sleep Talk sets up the pace and tenor of this very lovely story.
Bella and Edward know each other, we aren't exactly sure of their relationship, how long they've known each other or even what they both fully think of each other but we do know that they have a nightly ritual of meeting and...being.
"Walk, until I hit the corner.
And there he is.
"Why good morn' sleeping beauty."
I smile. Sarcastically. This boy is always awake when I am. Always waiting for me to appear. Knows my routine. Is there to piss me off.
"Thumbs up on the sleep wear."
He looks down. Looks back up with a grin. His threadbare pyjama pants leaves little to the imagination. Not that he cares. He's shameless and pretty in the dim of his porch light."
"Sit."
I do, and I slouch, twist the cap, and use the lid to pour him some warmth.
"Yum." He pats his belly. "Best." His hand disappears into his pants. He's palming his junk.
Why do boys do that?
I shrug and sip. I look into the night sky and think about things.
His arm rests on the back of the bench swing.
We say nothing, do nothing.
I think he's my only friend, in some capacity, my best.
"I'm leaving Forks in two weeks."- chapter 1
Two weeks.
It's gonna kill me.
The relationship between Charlie and Bella is one of my favorite parts of this story.
Sometimes, Charlie is ignored in stories, he can be a main character but you never feel connected to him. Sleep Talk has a Charlie-Bella family connection that makes me proud to be a Daddy's girl.
Sleep Talk updates very regularly, almost daily, and has 11 chapters currently posted.
*~*~*~*
"a tale of pirouettes and prayers. Marseilles and a mosaic-heart. whispers and white dahlias. leg warmers and LSD. Turtle and tutus. SixtyFour and 'Since I've been Loving You'. lies and lilacs. truth and the trouble with it. blood… and bearing a grudge."
This is an alternate universe story where Edward works for the Volturi, cleaning up "messes".
He finds his singer in a very young Bella, whom he stays close to as she grows up.
The connection he has with Bella and the description of his feelings for her mirrors the "imprinting" of canon Twilight. I know that we don't all like the whole "imprinting" thing but it is the only way I can describe Edward's devotion to Bella and his primal need to be in her life, any way he can.
"It's not just her blood. I can handle that, I've got that craving in check. It's her skin, her warmth, her yawns. I can't keep from wanting every part of her in my hands, all the time.Just to know she's safe and sound.Just to know she's still beating, breathing, singing for me."- chapter 6
Bella has always known him.
He is her best friend.
He is her Edward.
But no one else knows about him.
He is her secret.
However, canon rears it's ugly head again when he leaves her so she can have a normal life and she collapses into herself, until she gets back up and grows up.
TSS has 16 chapters posted.
As always, let me know if you read these stories and what you think.

*side eyes you all*
Sorry Ang, sometimes I don't get to come here every day. Still trippin' over your previous rec of 'Through The Oak Door'. Will be checking out these as well. Love me some hot FF!
Brenda
And, since you asked, yes, I do have a rec for you, if you haven't already read it....'The Bigger They Are' by LadyExcalibur2010. A simply amazing fic about Militaryward who meets a widowed Bella and her 4 sons. It's complete, and she also has a 40 some chapter compilation of outtakes called 'The Harder They Fall'. This is a very 'real' story of the life of a military family and their recovery when the worst happens. She actually inspired me to adopt a soldier through 'Soldier's Angels'...an organization who makes sure all soldiers get mail and care packages, especially those with no family. Anyway, here's the link: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6023650/1/
Enjoy!
I made the banner for The Bigger They Are! She actually uses it as the official banner for the fic. Great story.'
I love the little ones, Jacob is my fave.
That is awesome you adopted a soldier! Way cool. =)

I like to know your thoughts. They are so deep and fascinating, I mean, dirty and funny.
